A peek under the covers of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show 2013

Alone on the catwalk, Taylor Swift sashays as if everyone is watching. Face locked in “Blue Steel,” the country pop star flares her extremities with the ease of muscle memory that comes with years worshiping those who have walked it before her, all the while belting out an electronic dance music remix of her hit “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Watching the sound check from a frenzied dressing room on a closed circuit feed three stories above, Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss squeals with delight.

“Oh my god, there’s Miss Taylor!” the 21-year old shrieks as make-up artists attempt to apply light touch-ups to the one Vanity Fair recently dubbed The New Face of Fashion. “She’s wearing so much confidence!”
It is barely 10 a.m., but confidence, it turns out, is the word of the day for the supermodels that populate the roster of the Victoria’s Secret Angels – the pulchritudinous faces of America’s largest lingerie retailer which count Helena Christensen, Stephanie Seymour, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen and Tyra Banks in their alumni. To a ridiculously tall, impossibly goodlooking woman, each swears by the power of the state of being.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing itsy-bitsy lingerie or sweatpants, confidence is what makes a difference,” says Kloss, who, thanks to her lanky 6-foot-1 frame, draws comparisons to Bundchen but could easily pass as British actress Keira Knightley’s sister. “That’s why everyone’s been preparing and eating healthy.”
“Sexiness is all about confidence and inner beauty,” fellow Angel Lily Aldridge echoes. “Obviously the lingerie is very sexy, but the girls wearing it are all very confident, happy, healthy women
