Lana Del Rey's rendition of Once Upon A Dream for Maleficent premieres at Grammys in 90-second sneak peek trailer

Fans of Disney's Sleeping Beauty have been waiting with bated breath for the release of Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie.
And the initial glimpse of the official trailer was premiered at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, was also the first time the public heard the title soundtrack, Once Upon A Dream, sung by pop sensation Lana Del Rey.
The film is a darker take on the Disney classic, telling the story from Maleficent's viewpoint, exploring the events which led up to her becoming a cold-hearted villain

Angelina, 38, went through a transformation which saw her become the famous villain, in a large ram horn helmet as she stalks around in a dark fur-lined coat while clutching a sceptre.
Wearing deep red lip paint, the bright eyed actress is still strangely stunning even under all of her make-up and prosthetic enhancements - including moulded cheekbones and pointed ears.
The trailer starts with a much darker take on the iconic beginning scene of the Disney film - where Maleficent intrudes on the party for the birth of Princess Aurora.

The adult version of the classic film is sure to re-ignite many people's imagination and fear experienced in childhood.
Cursing the child after saying the cryptic words a green mist emits from her hands, portending future doom.
The words, 'you know the tale, now find out the truth' appear on the screen, before Princess Aurora is seen approaching the woods leading to Maleficent's palace and the king sending out his army to find her.
Added 3D-enhanced creatures in the woodland have been created for added drama and effect - differing from the original version.
Aurora, played by Elle Fanning, is last pictured in the iconic spindle scene, tentatively about to place her finger on the needle.
As Aurora grows, she is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy.
She realises that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.
Maleficent ends the harrowing trailer with the words: 'There is evil in this world, hatred and revenge.. oh ' before letting out an evil laugh.'
Lana Del Rey’s Once Upon a Dream is free for a limited time only on Google Play.
The song will also be available exclusively on Google Play through Monday, February 3.
It was also alleged that Angelina chose Lana Del Rey personally to sing the iconic song for the film
A source told the Mail On Sunday: ‘Angelina has been incredibly active in all aspects of the movie, even bagging a role for her daughter Vivienne, so it’s  no surprise that she helped choose who would sing the song,’ says a source.
‘Angelina and the film’s producers think Lana is perfect to breathe new life into an old classic.’
Maleficent is out in cinemas on May 30.
